Karachi: The Sindh government has launched a new initiative to provide 10,000 free electric bikes to working women across the province. The program has officially started with the Workers Welfare Board Sindh overseeing the distribution process.
According to officials, the registration process is now open for women employed in various industries, enabling them to apply for free electric motorcycles under the scheme.
Sindh’s Minister for Labour, Shahid Abdul Salam Thehmi, stated that the initiative is designed to reduce expenses, improve safety, empower women in the workforce, and lower carbon emissions.
This marks a significant step toward women’s empowerment and sustainable transportation in Sindh, aligning with the government’s broader vision of eco-friendly mobility solutions.
