Situation in Parachinar
Situation in Parachinar: In the violent incidents occurring on the roads of District Kurram, so far around 200 people have been injured or disabled, and 210 precious lives have been lost.
In the worst atrocities, football was played with human heads, the heads were presented before animals, and the entire world witnessed this on social media.
But sadly! Instead of arresting the real culprits, state institutions are busy trapping peaceful public representatives in false cases.
So far, more than 100 vehicles have been burnt and looted in convoys and on the roads.
If the average value of each vehicle is considered to be 15 million rupees, then the loss has exceeded 2 billion rupees.
This is not just a financial loss, it is the destruction of the honor and livelihood of hundreds of families.
Approximately 24,000 overseas individuals have lost their visas and jobs.
Not only have 24,000 families been affected by this, but the province and the district are being deprived of 40 million rupees daily and more than 8 billion rupees in foreign exchange so far.
The labor class is forced into starvation – 10,000 local, 10,000 non-local daily wage laborers, and 2,000 workers associated with the Kharlachi border have been unemployed for the past seven months.
Hundreds of businesses are closed, thousands of shops deserted, and families are living a life of starvation.
The inflation is such that where the district needs more than 700 barrels of petrol daily, in the past seven months, instead of 105,000 barrels, only 5,000 barrels have been provided, due to which the price of petrol increased six times — up to 1,200 rupees, and even now the price at the district’s gate is 260 rupees per liter, but inside District Kurram it is being sold at 400 rupees per liter.
Due to the increase in petrol prices and looting in the name of convoys, the prices have increased many times compared to those outside the district’s gate.
The education system has been shut down for the past seven months or has attendance of less than 20 percent. Thousands of children’s admissions in schools, colleges, and universities have been lost, putting the future of an entire generation at risk.
Due to the shortage of medicines, unavailability of doctors and staff, dozens of patients including 700 children have died so far.
It is true that to upgrade hospitals, buildings, iron, cement, and time are required,
But where hundreds of already vacant posts need to be filled,
Or to retain experienced and senior paramedical staff and doctors,
A single notification of “sanctioned post upgrade” is sufficient –
And unfortunately, that too has not been issued to date.
This is the same criminal negligence due to which society is constantly under mental stress and helplessness,
And on average 19 people are committing suicide every month.
If this mental state ever turns into anger and revenge, then the situation will no longer be in anyone’s control.
In District Kurram, not only is the free movement of citizens restricted in the name of security, but even ambulances are being stopped for hours.
Many patients keep writhing inside ambulances for 8 to 10 hours.
This act is a clear violation of the Constitution of Pakistan, human rights, IHL, and the Geneva Conventions.
Recently, due to an attack of caterpillars on the mountainous forests of Malana and Zeran, a forest of approximately twenty thousand oak trees spread over 400 acres has been destroyed.
If the price of each tree is considered to be fifty thousand rupees, then more than 1 billion rupees in losses have occurred.
Due to the severe shortage of food and fuel, the local economic and environmental system and agriculture of District Kurram have completely collapsed, causing people to be deprived of basic needs, mobility, and livelihood.
This continuous deterioration has become a serious threat to the future stability and human survival of the region.
